A crude oil desk built on public data
Free to use. No paywall, no advertising.
petral puts the numbers a crude oil desk watches on one screen: forward curves and spreads, inventories, positioning, freight, supply and demand, and the reference data behind the barrels themselves. It is built from free and public sources, and it is honest about what that means.
Principles
- Every number is sourced. Each chart carries a badge naming its source and how fresh it is.
- Proxies are labelled. Where a direct series is not freely available, a stand-in is shown as one and says what it stands in for.
- Descriptive, not predictive. petral shows levels, spreads, history and context. It does not forecast prices or tell you what to trade.
- Nothing ships silently wrong. A missing or failed feed is shown as missing, never filled with a plausible-looking number.
